National Safety Month





Every year, National Safety Month is celebrated in June. Drivers are continuously providing their valuable service even in COVID-19. Their contributions are appreciable and grateful because they have continued to supply goods and all the things which kept our economy going even during this crisis.

JST Truck Permit appreciates and salutes all the coronavirus heroes. It is our duty to keep your documents up-to-date so that you should not face any problem on the road.  
It becomes very important to ensure that they should also take care of themselves while going for such large trips and also must ensure the safety of people or vehicles around them.

GENERAL THINGS TO ENSURE:


1.       Condition of the vehicle before driving
2.      Wear seat belt
3.      Don’t use mobile phones while driving
4.     Don’t use electronic devices while driving
5.      Don’t try to read printed material on vehicles
6.      Keep your speed in limits

These are some basic things every driver should ensure.
According to DOT FARS, there have been 4,678 cases of deaths due to collision with trucks last year, which was 4,369 during 2017. The fatality cases have been increasing every year according to NHTSA

WHAT IS THE REASON FOR SO MANY FATALITIES?


1.       One of the major causes is drug and alcohol abuse. 0.4% of cases of the crash were due to controlled substances and 0.3% due to alcohol consumption
2.      According to FMCSA mechanical wear and tear to the vehicle like defects with tires, breaks issue, steering defect also a cause to the crashes.
3.      Overweight is another cause of crashes.
4.     Fatigue
5.      distance with the other vehicles
6.      Avoiding rules and regulation
7.      aggression

A well-trained driver is crucial to ensure the safety on road while driving. Safety should be on the top of your daily list while taking control of your vehicle in your hands.

Always remember when you going out for a job, someone waits a whole day at your home just to see you again. Keep them in mind while driving or taking any important decision.

Stay calm while driving, your aggression could harm you and vehicle or people walking around you.

Take full rest before taking control of these heavy machines in your hand or ensure a specific distance from other vehicles as per the guidelines issued by the Department of Transportation.
